With Armed Forces chief Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor’s call for loyalty to the prime minister, Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad chided that Najib Abdul Razak now has his own army.
He said this is a disappointing development, as the armed forces and the police are supposed to be loyal to king and country instead.
“It is against our constitution whereby the armed forces must be loyal to king and country, but now we find that our soldiers are loyal to Najib and the government.
“This means that Najib now has his own army,” he told a press conference after chairing the Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting at the Opposition Leader’s Office in Parliament today.
