ROS: Bersatu's deregistration permanent if it fails to comply within 30 days

Bersatu's de-registration will become permanent if the party fails to comply with the Registrar of Societies' (ROS) request within 30 days.
ROS director-general Surayati Ibrahim said Bersatu could also file an appeal within the 30-day period as well.
"I would like to state here that Bersatu failed to submit all information and documents required by it under Section 14 (2) of the Societies Act 1966," she told a press conference at the ROS headquarters in Putrajaya this afternoon.
Section 14(2) of the Societies Act allows the ROS to order any registered society to furnish them with documents concerning the party.
Surayati said the notice for Bersatu to furnish the relevant information was issued on Feb 28.
"If after 30 days of the temporary deregistration period, and if there is an appeal and it is rejected, then the deregistration of Bersatu will become permanent," she added.
