We share Chen's pain on common logo, says Kit Siang

DAP founder Dr Chen Man Hin's pain and agony over party's decision to abandon their iconic rocket logo during the upcoming election was not his alone, said DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang.
In a statement today, Lim said this pain was shared by all party leaders, supporters and members.
He said DAP's decision to agree to not use the rocket logo for GE14 was a "most painful and heart-wrenching" decision yet one necessary for all party leaders.
Lim said Pakatan Harapan had to do so to project unity and the willingness to rescue Malaysia from the jaws of kleptocracy.

"We want to ensure not only individual candidates and DAP can win in the 14th general election, we also want to ensure that all Harapan candidates and all the four component parties can (form the next federal government).
"The suggestion that PKR, Amanah and Bersatu use a common Harapan logo while DAP keeps its rocket logo is not an option, for we must be able to convey to Malaysian voters the inspiring message that all four parties are united as one political force," he said.
Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad is expected to announce the coalition's choice for their ballot slip logo tonight at a rally in Pasir Gudang, Johor.
The coalition was unable to use the Harapan logo because it was not approved by the Registrar of Societies which also ordered for Bersatu's provisional dissolution yesterday.
Given the troubles faced with the ROS and the decision made by the DAP, the coalition is only left with the options of using either PKR or Amanah's logo at the polls.
Lim, who has been an election candidate 11 times under DAP's rocket logo, said the coalition's decision to stand under one flag showed their resolve to unite as one to undertake the task for reforming the country's institutions and resolving economic woes.
"We are sending out a loud and clear message that the time has come for all Malaysians to rise above race, language, religion and even political parties so that Malaysia can have a second chance to reset nation-building policies.

"We must realign our trajectory by returning to the fundamental principles laid out in the Malaysian constitution and key nation-building documents like the Rukunegara and save Malaysia from the fate of a failed, rogue and kleptocratic state," he said. - Mkini
