No action against Nazri even if he campaigns for Anwar, says Zahid

No disciplinary action will be taken against Umno Padang Rengas MP Nazri Abdul Aziz even if he campaigns for PKR president-elect Anwar Ibrahim in the Port Dickson by-election, insists Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Saying that he always welcome differences of opinion, the Umno president said that Nazri would not face action even if the party decides to field a candidate and challenge Anwar for the parliamentary seat.
"What is the need (for disciplinary action against Nazri)?
"I do not see any problem with it. I always celebrate differences in opinions," he told reporters after attending the PAS Muktamar in Kuala Terengganu today.
Zahid was commenting on Nazri's recent statement that he would still campaign for Anwar in Port Dickson even if he goes up against an Umno candidate.
The Umno president also reiterated his statement that Nazri was not representing Umno or BN when the latter said the party should work together with PKR.
On Thursday, Nazri told Malaysiakini that he will campaign for Anwar, saying that it is what is best for Umno in order to get the party back into government.
He also said that Umno could not win the seat, and thus should let PKR carry out its plan to change the constituency's elected representative.
"I don't foresee Umno being in government in the near future, but there is some common thinking among Umno MPs that we should come back into government as early as possible.

"The only way to do that is to work with PKR... so we should show some goodwill... if we want to form the government, let Anwar win," he had said. - Mkini
