The Inland Revenue Board says the measure is part of a pilot project to pre-fill income tax return forms for the 2026 assessment year.

The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) said the measure will go towards a pilot project to pre-fill income tax return forms for the 2026 assessment year, using tax relief information derived from e-invoice transaction data.
“To obtain an e-invoice, buyers need to provide their identification number or tax identification number to the seller to ensure it is issued accurately,” LHDN said in a statement, Bernama reported.
“Among the expenses that may be pre-filled are purchases of personal computers or smartphones, lifestyle-related expenses, insurance, childcare centre fees, and other stipulated relief categories.”
LHDN said e-invoices not only facilitate record management and storage, but also allow transactions and tax relief claims to be reviewed through the MyInvois portal.
Taxpayers may contact LHDN through its offices, the LHDN e-Invoice help desk at 03-8682-8000, MyInvois Live Chat, or via email at myinvois@hasil.gov.my for further assistance and advice regarding e-invoices. - FMT
