Wheelchair-bound man injured after run over by car

 Police said the victim, a homeless man, is currently receving treatment in hospital.

Police are carrying out an investigation after a homeless man in a wheelchair was injured after being run over by a car in the middle of the road here on Friday.

Kuala Muda police chief Hanyan Ramlan told FMT that the man is receiving treatment at Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital.

Dashcam footage of the accident has been widely shared and shows the victim getting hit by a car in the middle of a road in Taman Ria here shortly past 1am.

Hanyan said the case is being investigated for reckless driving. - FMT
