Boy, 4, drowns in Port Dickson swimming pool

PETALING JAYA:

A four-year-old boy died after drowning in a swimming pool at a resort along Jalan Pantai, Batu 4, Port Dickson, yesterday.

Port Dickson deputy police chief Ruslan Mat Kib said police received a report from Port Dickson Hospital at 7.26pm regarding the incident, Bernama reported.

He said the incident occurred at about 5.30pm when the victim and his three siblings were swimming in the pool under their mother’s supervision.

An elder brother alerted his mother after the victim fell into the pool and members of the public jumped into the pool to save him. He was later rushed to hospital by his mother.

The family, from Johor, was staying at an apartment within the resort.

Ruslan said the boy was pronounced dead at 10.31pm and a post-mortem confirmed drowning as the cause of death. - FMT
