4 killed after car crashes into parked lorry in Kota Kinabalu

 The fire and rescue department says the accident occurred at Taman Jaya Diri, Jalan Sepanggar, early today.

All the four victims in the car died in the accident in Kota Kinabalu.

PETALING JAYA:

Four men were killed after the Perodua Viva car they were travelling in skidded and crashed into a five-tonne lorry parked on the road shoulder at Taman Jaya Diri, Jalan Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu, early today.

The identities of the victims are still being ascertained, Bernama reported.

The fire and rescue department said it received an emergency call about the incident at 2.37am.

Personnel from the Kota Kinabalu fire and rescue station, assisted by the Lintas fire and rescue station, arrived at the scene at 2.59am and found all four victims trapped inside the vehicle.

Firemen used special rescue equipment to extricate them after medical personnel confirmed all of them had died.

The operation to extricate the victims was completed an hour later. - FMT
