Weak earthquake hits Kinabatangan in Sabah

KINABATANGAN:

A weak earthquake, measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale, hit Kuamut in Sabah at 5.32am today, according to the meteorological department (MetMalaysia).

It said the epicentre of the quake was 5.1 degrees north latitude and 116.8 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 118km, about 223km northwest of Tarakan, Indonesia, and 32km southwest of Tongod, Sabah.

The quake did not pose any tsunami threat to Malaysia, it added. - FMT
