PETALING JAYA: Residents at the De Rozelle condominium in Kota Damansara here were shocked this morning to find the windows of their cars smashed and several items missing.
The cars were parked outside the condominium compound and the affected residents believe drug addicts are the culprits.
“We suspect that it’s the work of drug addicts as some of us have seen them hanging around the area late at night,” a resident said, adding that he had passed on the information to the police.
The resident, who declined to be named, said he found a brick, wrapped with a McDonald’s paper bag, inside his car.
“I’m not touching anything. I don’t want to tarnish the evidence,” he said.
He said this was not the first time something like this had happened at the condominium.
“In August last year, many of us discovered that the rims had been removed from our car tyres. We informed the police then and they started patrolling the area but, lately, these patrols have stopped.”
The resident said among the missing items this time were clothes and coins left in the car.
“The best part of all this is that my car was parked right in front of our guard house,” he said.
He believed at least three of the cars parked there were broken in last night. -FMT
