HIS OWN PROPAGANDA CZARS FEUDING & UNDER POLICE PROBE, NAJIB SAYS ‘ONLINE BATTLE’ WILL DETERMINE GE14 OUTCOME – ATTACKS OPPOSITION FOR ‘JUICY’ BUT ‘FAKE’ CONTENT

KUALA LUMPUR – The 14th general election will be a social media battle, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said today.

The Umno president stressed that to ensure a victory for Barisan Nasional in the next polls ― which he said is the “mother of all elections” ― any false news being propagated online should be countered effectively to swing election results.

“The GE14 victory (for BN) will be determined by cyber warfare. We need to conquer the online battle,” Najib said at Umno’s social media convention today.

“We cannot be as business as usual. This is a new frontier, a new battle ground and Umno has to evolve and occupy the front line,” Najib stressed.

“The Opposition does not tell the truth but their content is juicy. When it is interesting, it is no more on whether it is true or false but how many people are engaged. I want more interesting content that has creative features,” Najib added.

The Umno social media convention today featured speeches from various leaders in educating party members on the usage of social media ahead of the upcoming polls.

Najib in his speech claimed that the event today was attended 3,800 Umno social media users which can be translated into positive influence for the ruling coalition going into the elections.
