Salleh says flood drowns politics, reveals Najib as a gentleman

As flood waters and landslides submerged various areas in Penang, a minister has lauded the surfacing of mature politics during this crisis.
Salleh Said Keruak noted how political rivals set aside their differences to help resolve the plight of the people.
In a blog post this evening, the communication and multimedia minister cited one news report which attracted his attention.
According to Salleh, this concerned Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's disclosure that he had telephoned Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in the wee hours of the morning seeking federal assistance.
“They met the next morning and cooperated to solve the problems faced by the people,” he added.
There were also photographs showing Lim and Zahid embracing each other after the latter arrived in Penang.

Similarly, Salleh said this morning, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor visited the flood-affected areas and residents.
“Once again, they were welcomed by the chief minister and given a briefing by the state government (officials). I saw them engaged in a cordial discussion on how to resolve the problems of the people,” he added.
On seeing these developments, Salleh said he thought to himself that this is Malaysia.
“Political differences do not prevent (us from) working together in solving the people's woes. PM Najib is a gentleman,” he added.
