"I have ordered all Selangor local governments to immediately come to Penang, and bring lorries, compactors, and other vehicles or machinery to assist with the cleanup work as soon as the flood has subsided," he said.
He added that some 300 volunteers from Selangor were also on their way to help with flood relief efforts.
He was speaking at a joint press conference with Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at the at the Penang Island City Council’s CCTV control room.
Also present were DAP parliamentarians Lim Kit Siang and Liew Chin Tong.
Penang was battered by extremely heavy rain since yesterday which caused major flooding.
In the wee hours of the morning, Lim called Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to get the army to help with the flood relief efforts.
