'Slowly, slowly,' deputy minister says, in Chinese, on 1MDB probe

PARLIAMENT | Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Razali Ibrahim urged patience with regard to the ongoing investigation into 1MDB, even using words in Chinese to stress his point.
"In Chinese, we say man man lahman man (slowly lah, slowly).
"We will wait for the (outcome of the) matter, which is under investigation by the relevant authorities. God willing, the truth will be revealed," Razali told the Dewan Rakyat last night.
Razali was responding to a question from Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin (PKR-Bukit Katil), who questioned whether MACC had ceased its investigation into 1MDB.
The deputy minister said it was not the MACC that is investigating 1MDB, but the police.
He pointed to the Attorney-General's Chambers instructions to the police on Oct 24 to conduct further investigation into the matter.
Razali also acknowledged that there were investigations into 1MDB abroad, but claimed that those were one-sided.
"All the stories appear as if from one side only, but what is said by that side is also being questioned," he said.
Several jurisdictions, including the US, Switzerland and Singapore, have investigated the scandal surrounding the wealth fund.
The United States Department of Justice believes that at least US$3.5 billion in funds from 1MDB were misappropriated and used to, among others, acquire assets in the US.
