The pictures of Deputy PM Dato Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi hugging Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng have gone viral. Zahid visited opposition held Penang to see for himself and offer Federal aid and assurance to the storm and flood victims in Penang.
The tailwinds from that hurricane that hit Vietnam have caused havoc in Penang and northern Kedah as well.
We are so glad that their impact lasted a fairly short time only. The hurricane winds have gone, the rains have stopped and the water has resided.
At a time of difficulty and crisis for the ordinary man and woman, Zahid Hamidi has shown non partisan leadership to help the people of Penang and the state government to help put things back in order.
The people must come first.
