Video: 'Sex for favours' accused given 'special treatment' at MIC HQ

The former MIC branch leader accused of offering favours in return for sex was purportedly accorded “special treatment” when he turned up at the party headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
This was mentioned in a viral Whatsapp video by an individual who claimed to be responsible for the recording of the telephone conversation between the former MIC man and a woman whose daughter he was seeking to sleep with, which went viral.
The man said the people should not conclude that the accused was treated well during the meeting.
"Not many people know that a lot of 'special treatment' was given to the suspect (at the MIC headquarters). We can't reveal all.
"It is only after the 'special treatment' that we served him drinks because we will be held responsible if he dies without water. The 'treatment' was continued after short intervals. It is only after that, the man volunteered to quit his party post.
"It is, therefore, untrue to say MIC tried to cover up the matter. If that was the intention, the matter would not have been highlighted in videos, et cetera. If there was a cover-up, police reports would not be lodged against the suspect," said the man, without elaborating what "special treatment" meant.
Yesterday, Malaysiakini reported on a video showing former MIC deputy president M Saravanan meeting with the accused at the party headquarters and advising him to seek medical help for his condition.
MIC helped nab the suspect
Meanwhile, the man in the latest video urged the people not to spread rumours and jump to conclusions.
He said that other MIC leaders also helped the victim secure a job interview and would personally visit the family in the next two weeks.
"MIC has been of immense help in bringing the suspect to book. It is unfair to blame them for trying to cover up the case when the truth is otherwise," he added.
Several police reports have been lodged against the 56-year-old former branch leader, who is also a Tamil school teacher.
In the telephone conversation, which went viral, the accused promised to secure employment for the woman's daughter if the girl slept with him.
"Please tell me the timing and where, and how long the session can last. If she's not interested, please tell me, I will drop this offer, as there are a lot of other girls waiting," he had said.- Mkini
