Bersatu strategy and policy deputy chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan has proposed that Umno Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin take him on live on television.
This was after Bung Moktar, in an open letter, railed against Wan Saiful and challenged the Bersatu leader to contest against him in Sabah despite the latter being from Peninsular Malaysia.
Wan Saiful said he could not identify Bung Moktar's "real point" in his open letter but was prepared to hear him out and address his grouses on live television.
"To help him clarify, may I suggest he ask RTM1 to host both of us on a live programme?
"He shouldn't squirm back to where he feels safe," Wan Saiful told Malaysiakini when contacted.
Bung Moktar (below), in his open letter, boasted about how he was popular in his parliamentary constituency of Kinabatangan.
He added that when he first won the seat in 1999, Wan Saiful was merely a student.
The BN man appeared to have been upset at Wan Saiful's criticism of him for suggesting that the country's increasing obesity rate was a sign of economic prosperity.
"About my recent statement that obesity is a symbol of the country's prosperity, all I can say is it was misinterpreted by emotional people such as yourself," Bung told Wan Saiful.
Bung added that despite the criticism he received for his statements in Parliament, he remained popular among his constituents. -Mkini
