90% OF MALAYSIANS UNHAPPY WITH NAJIB, SAYS DR MAHATHIR

PETALING JAYA – The following are the highlights of the 14th general elections for the day:

PAKATAN HARAPAN CHAIRMAN Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said up to 90% of Malaysians are not happy with prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, and they will not vote for BN in the coming general elections.

“The whole world believes Najib will cheat,” he wrote in his blog Cara Najib Tipu.

THE GOVERNMENT TODAY declared May 9 (Wednesday) as a special national public holiday for voters to cast their votes in the 14th general elections.

PERAK PAKATAN HARAPAN chairman Nga Kor Ming announced that if Pakatan Harapan wins the 14th general elections in Perak, the new government would declare May 10 and 11 as public holidays for the state.

Amanah strategy director Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad has earlier proposed May 10 and 11 as national public holidays if PH wins the 14th general elections.

AN ONLINE PETITION has been started to appeal to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to declare May 9 (Wednesday) a national public holiday in order to allow voters to cast their votes in the 14th general elections.

ACCORDING TO THE latest electoral roll for fourth quarter of 2017, voters aged between 21 and 39 make up almost 40% of all voters.

“JOM BALIK UNDI” Facebook page has received overwhelming responses from Malaysian social media users, with some voicing their willingness to car pool with other voters or offer free pick-up services at bus terminal late at night.

A KL netizen even offers his Alza for voters to drive outstation to vote.

The page currently has more than 21,000 members.
ACCORDING TO A survey conducted by Barisan Nasional, the Sarawak BN may win at least 26 parliamentary seats in the 14th general elections.

The survey shows that Stampin, Sarikei and Lanang are now turned from black to grey areas, with Sarikei holding the best prospects for BN.

SELANGOR MENTERI BESAR Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali slammed the Election Commission for putting the polling date on a weekday, as it would be unfair for voters working outstation or in Singapore.

He said this would deny their right to go back to vote and determine the future of this country.

PARTI AMANAH NEGARA strategy director Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad proposed May 10 and 11 as public holidays if Pakatan Harapan wins the 14th general elections.
