“DAP will not lay claim to the Perak MB post, said the veteran DAP leader at a press conference here Sunday (April 15).

The speculation was fuelled by the announcement of Dr Abdul Aziz Bari as the DAP’s candidate for the Tebing Tinggi state seat.

Lim also announced that Johor DAP had managed to source 10 buses, funded by the public, to bring back Malaysians working in Singapore to vote on May 9.

State DAP campaign manager George Poh said the support came in after news came out that bus tickets from Singapore to Malaysia were sold out.

“These are going to Batu Pahat, Segamat, Kluang and Muar. There’s a total capacity of 400, and we hope there’ll be more sponsors,” Poh said, adding that the trips were only one-way as the organisers were unclear when voters would choose to head back south.

Poh’s colleague Sandra Tang said the “Jom Balik Undi” carpool group on Facebook, now had over 30,000 members.
