Dr M announces Amanah's 12 candidates for Pahang state seats

GE14 | Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad tonight announced 12 candidates for state seats that will be fielded by Amanah in Pahang in the upcoming general election.
Meanwhile, Amanah secretary-general Anuar Tahir will be the party's sole parliamentary candidate for the state. He will be contesting the Temerloh seat.
The incumbent lawmaker is PAS' Nasrudin Hassan. It has yet been confirmed whether he will be defending the seat or otherwise.
Out of the 12 Amanah candidates that were announced, at least four of them are teachers.
They are Norhaizan Abu Hassan (Pelangai), Adnan Abdul Manan (Kerdau), Jalani Ludin (Jengka) and Ahmad Sazili Mohd Nor (Tioman).
The other state seat candidates announced tonight were Zulkifli Mohamed (Beserah), Nur Addin Ibrahim (Lepar), Hamzah Jaaffar (Dong), Jamaluddin Abd Rahim (Pulau Tawar), Ahmad Majdil Fauzi Abd Aziz (Guai), Adnan Abdul Manan (Kerdau), Sabrina Md Yusoff (Tanjung Lumpur), Syed Hamid Syed Mohamed (Kuala Semantan).
Mahathir, at the ceramah held in Temerloh tonight, pointed to the thousands who were in attendance.
"There are those who say Pahang does not like Pakatan Harapan. (It is) a lie, isn't it?
"Tonight you can clearly see (how there are many people) from Temerloh alone."
Citing caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, Mahathir said there would be busloads of people ferried from all over the country for BN programmes as opposed to having locals from a particular area.
"But you came on your own be it by car, motorcycle or you even walked.
"This is the spirit, we're not like how when they launched their manifesto. 14,000 people supposedly came but there were 1,000 buses, they were given food and money and they did not come to listen but they just wanted to come to see Kuala Lumpur.
"Alhamdulillah for the response from Temerloh, the state of (former prime minister) Abdul Razak Hussein. He is my idol, he was the one who gave me the chance to become prime minister."
Apart from Mahathir, other top Harapan leaders present tonight were the coalition's president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.
Tonight's announcement did not feature candidates from PKR and Bersatu.
However, Pahang Harapan chairperson Fauzi Abdul Rahman told Malaysiakini that the list had indeed been finalised.
"But it will be announced sometime this week, we want to give suspense," he added.
The DAP has already announced its list of candidates for Pahang last night.
They are Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji, who will contest the Raub parliamentary seat and eight others who will contest state seats - Abu Bakar Lebai Sudin (Pulau Manis), Young Syefura Othman (Ketari), Leong Yu Mun (Triang), Woo Chee Wan (Mentakab) DR Kamache (Sabai), Lee Chin Chen (Bilut), Chow Yu Hui (Tras) and Chong Yoke Kong (Tanah Rata).  -Mkini
