GE14 | Caretaker prime minister Najib Abdul Razak has taken a swipe at Lim Guan Eng, during his visit to observe the "blue wave" in Penang earlier today.
In a tweet, Najib said: "This evening, I'm in Penang, not to see a bungalow, or unfinished tunnel, but to see the blue wave here."
"From the welcome I received in Balik Pulau earlier, I'm confident Penangites will be with BN," he said, hashtagging #BersamaBN (Together with BN) and #HebatkanNegaraku (Make the country great), which is BN's theme for the 14th general election manifesto.
Although the BN chairperson did not mention any names, the bungalow and tunnel references are believed to be references to caretaker Penang chief minister and DAP secretary-general Lim's scandals.
Lim is facing a graft charge over the purchase of the Jalan Pinhorn bungalow in George Town from businessperson Phang Li Koon at below the market price.
The Penang undersea tunnel project is also a subject of MACC investigations, where it was revealed that some RM22 million had been allegedly paid out to two individuals in attempts to stop corruption investigations into the project. -Mkini
