NS Barisan says 44 promises from 2013 all done

New manifesto on April 21 to include expanded free WiFi and incentives for those who obtain first-class honours degrees.
SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan Barisan Nasional says it has carried out all 44 points in its manifesto for the previous general election, state chairman Mohamad Hasan said.
At an early stage, an additional item was dropped as it was more of a desire rather than a necessity.
“Only one promise left, namely building an Islamic Civilisation Centre. We feel that it’s better to spend the allocation to address people’s problems rather than the centre. That’s why we didn’t do it,” he said.
Mohamad Hasan, who is menteri besar, said it would now be implemented by the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council and would not be included in the state BN manifesto for the coming elections.
The manifesto would be revealed on April 21.
The pledges include giving incentives to Negeri Sembilan-born scholars who obtain first class honours degrees, upgrading the Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute in Gemencheh, achieving zero hardcore poverty, and increasing the number of affordable houses.
Other items include expanding free Wifi service, road improvements, gazetting 40 Orang Asli villages, and declaring Seremban as a city. - FMT
