SANDAKAN POLLS | DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has mocked former premier Najib Abdul Razak's upcoming visit to Sandakan later today as an attempt to teach locals how to be corrupt.
"If 'bossku' (Najib) comes, what is he going to teach the people of Sandakan?
"Is he going to teach them how to be corrupt like in the 1MDB case? Maybe (he'll teach) the people of Sandakan how to put billions into their bank accounts," Lim said.
He was speaking at a ceramah at SM Yu Yuan in Sandakan last night.
Najib, who is facing 42 charges of corruption, money laundering and abuse of power, has rebranded himself as "Bossku" and using it as a platform for his campaigns.
He will be in Sandakan to campaign for PBS in the parliamentary by-election there.
Lim said Najib was welcome to enter Sandakan, but questioned what good he could do for the locals.
Likewise, he questioned whether PAS and Umno, which back PBS, would benefit Sandakan.
"Is Umno still of use? Can Umno help us? What can they ask us to do? They can ask us to do evil, give and take bribes," he said.
Lim said that PAS was even worse, citing the Kelantan government's ruling asking eateries to close between 8.30pm and 10pm throughout Ramadan, which he said had caused trouble for Muslim restaurateurs.
Both parties, the finance minister claimed, were extremist and opposed to non-Malays and non-Muslims.
"These extremists parties aren't just racist, they're anti non-Malays and non-Muslims and want to destroy their rights, including the right of non-Malays to become a minister.
"This is what Umno and PAS said, that non-Malays can't be ministers," he claimed.
