GERIK: A Perak Islamic and Malay Customs Council driver stumbled on a newborn baby boy at a bush behind a hotel in the Royal Belum Rainforest Resort, Pulau Banding, here today.
Gerik police chief Supt Ismail Che Isa said the man, who was attending a course at the resort, was in a room at the hotel and opened a window before he heard the baby’s cries about 11am.
“The driver and his two friends went to the scene and found the baby boy with his umbilical cord intact and shivering in the cold,” he said in a statement here today.
He said the man sent the baby to the Sri Banding Camp Clinic here and later to the Gerik Hospital. -FMT
