Cops looking for parents of girl found alone in Puncak Alam

SHAH ALAM: Police are looking for the parents of a girl who was found wandering alone along a busy road at Puncak Alam recently.
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat said police were alerted about the case, following a video which went viral on Wednesday (May 15).
The video was taken by a lorry driver, who saw the girl wearing a blue T-shirt walking by herself on the road.
In the video, the man questioned the girl about her mother and where she came from.
He then asked her who was at home. She responded that her father was sleeping.
The man then took the girl's hand and asked him to show him where she lived.
He also asked several onlookers if they knew where she came from.
The girl then brought the man to a house which was undergoing renovation.
The man questioned why the workers did not stop her from walking out.
The girl's father then came out. The man told him that the girl had walked out to the main road and was almost hit by his lorry.
The man told him to be more careful and informed the workers to watch out for the girl.
SAC Fadzil said a police report was lodged and investigations papers opened under Section 33 of the Child Act 2001 for leaving a child unattended without proper monitoring.
"We urge the girl's family to come forward to the Sungai Buloh police headquarters immediately and meet with Insp Samri Abd Hamid for further investigations," he said on Thursday (May 16).- Star
