Dr M says Donald Trump Has Turned The World Upside Down. Really?

 

Yesterday I read this opinion by Dr M. I have adapted some.

A warning on global power, economic strain and political direction

One thing is certain: the turmoil of 2025 will continue in 2026. Mostly, the turmoil is due to one man — the President of the United States. Donald Trump, who won a second term, has turned the whole world upside down.

What has Mr Trump done? He has turned a multipolar world into a unipolar one. He has practically declared war against all countries of the world, big and small. He wants to make the United States of America great again.

My Comments: Making America great again means declaring war against the world? Since when is wanting to make your country great a bad thing? Wasnt that what Dr M was trying to do for 22 years and 22 months? 

The world is now solidly multipolar. China is now No. 1 - occupying its own space in the world. Russia is the world's strongest military super power with Central Asia, large chunks of the Middle East and parts of Europe in its orbit. 

The European Union is split and NATO is weak. And America does not care  much anymore. 

And the Middle East is still burning - on its own.

So Trump has decided to apply high tariffs on imports into the US to reduce the deficits suffered by the country. He wants all American companies abroad to return to the US. These companies will create jobs for Americans and stop relying on imports. For this, he has raised tariffs by up to 150 per cent.

However, he is willing to negotiate on tariff rates, and the negotiations must benefit the US.

Unfortunately for Trump, high tariffs have inflated costs in the US. Only the rich are enjoying a good life there, while the poor are suffering. This is the K-economy.

My Comments: I say man, didnt Trump learn about high tariffs from Malaysia? Didnt Dr M  apply up to 200% tariffs on imported vehicles? Didnt Dr M introduce the APs including for the import of turkeys? Remember that time when the import of turkeys was stopped because of some import permit issue? 

So how come when you put high tariffs on imports it was a good thing but when Trump does it it is a bad thing? And Donald Trump has said it plainly (to India and other countries) - if you lower your tariffs then I will lower mine. Tit for tat. It is called fair trade. Apa lah tak tahu niaga kah?  

And most unfortunately all the high tariffs that Dr M introduced have inflated the cost of living and made the people poorer, especially the Malays. The Malays have been the hardest hit by the super high prices of cars in Malaysia. Thanks to Dr M until today 2026 many Malays can only afford to buy small, tin can cars. But they are paying Toyota Camry prices for those small cars. 

• In the US the new 2026 Toyota Corolla starts around RM100,000. 
• In Malaysia it starts at around RM145,000. 
• That is 45% higher price. 

So Dr Mahathir how can an American (under Donald Trump) who pays RM100,000 for a Toyota Corolla be poorer than a Malaysian who has to pay RM145,000 for the same car? Apa lah tak tahu niaga kah? 

Aid to poor countries has been stopped. Shortages of food and medicine now affect these countries.

My Comments: I say man, when the Americans gave aid we said their aid came with strings attached. If you took their money you had to do what they asked you to do. Its their taxpayers money. But now when they dont give aid it becomes another bad thing? 

The result is mass migration to stable, developed countries. These countries now have to deal with all kinds of problems caused by migrants.

My Comments: This problem seems to affect the Islamic countries more than anyone else. Singaporeans, Taiwanese, Chinese are not mass migrating. 

In Malaysia, parties that lost in the election form the government. They seem unable to deal with inflation and political problems. They restrict discussion on race, religion and the Rulers. They censor the press.

Information technology, especially AI, is corrupting the minds of the young.

My Comments: Really? But so much of the sicky, sicky behaviour is going on in the religious schools. And the religious guys are at pole position in the sodomy, rape and molest cases in the country. Are they addicted to AI too? I thought they did not have the 'I' at all.

So what will 2026 be like? It is not going to be good, as Trump disregards normal rules and laws in international relations. I am not optimistic about 2026. I hope I am wrong.

My Comments: Lets blame it all on someone else. No need to take any responsibility. Whtever bad happens this year lets blame it on Trump. Whatever good happens lets take the credit. 

Sura 4:79   مَّآ أَصَابَكَ مِنۡ حَسَنَةٖ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِۖ وَمَآ أَصَابَكَ مِن سَيِّئَةٖ فَمِن نَّفۡسِكَۚ    -  'What comes to you of good is from Allah, but what comes to you of evil, is from yourself'.

But who reads the Quran anyway?
