Melaka police chief Dzulkhairi Mukhtar says the 39-year-old man is the son of the toddler's caregiver.

Melaka police chief Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the 39-year-old man is the son of the toddler’s caregiver, Bernama reported.
He has since been remanded.
Dzulkhairi said a medical officer at Melaka Hospital treated the semi-conscious toddler on April 14. She was later warded and has since been discharged.
“The victim tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol,” he was quoted as saying, referring to a cannabis-linked compound.
The victim’s mother later informed the medical officer that she had fetched her daughter from the caregiver’s home in Sungai Putat.
Dzulkhairi said the suspect was arrested on April 15 and tested negative for drugs.
Police are investigating the case under the Child Act 2001 for exposing the victim to danger. - FMT
