The agreement will see Maruss Sdn Bhd secure potential exclusive rights for high-performance ammunition components in the country.

The memorandum of understanding with SwissP Defence AG, a manufacturer and supplier specialising in high-performance small-calibre ammunition for military and law enforcement use, was signed at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2026 exhibition in Kuala Lumpur today.
It was witnessed by deputy defence minister Adly Zahari.
In a statement, Maruss managing director Syafiq Razi said the MoU would see the firm secure potential exclusive rights for high-performance ammunition components in the country.
Syafiq said the “strategic alliance” aligned with the National Defence Industry Policy 2026.
“Through strategic collaborations, including this partnership with SwissP, we are strengthening Malaysia’s capability in ammunition manufacturing, ensuring the industry remains resilient, competitive, and future-ready,” he said.
SwissP’s chief commercial officer, Christopher Leitner, said they considered Maruss a “very suitable local production partner” in Malaysia.
Leitner said SwissP also recognised Maruss’s strong, returning customer base.
“With 163 years of SwissP’s proven expertise and quality, we are confident of bringing our technology to further strengthen and support Maruss’s market presence locally,” he said. - FMT
