
KUALA LUMPUR: More than RM7 million worth of luxury vehicles and over RM800,000 in gold jewellery were among the items seized by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in connection with a RM230 million misappropriation case involving a non-governmental organisation (NGO).
In a post on its TikTok account today, the MACC released the list of items seized in its investigation into the case, which saw the arrest of two company directors and an NGO deputy chairman.
According to the post, the 18 vehicles seized included a Range Rover worth about RM1.25 million, three Porsches with a combined value of about RM1.7 million and two Mercedes-Benz cars with a combined total of about RM1.2 million.
As for the gold jewellery, the items seized included six gold bars worth about RM371,000, 12 gold bangles worth more than RM200,000, six gold bracelets worth almost RM90,000 and five gold necklaces worth about RM40,000.
Also seized were four luxury watches, including two Rolexes worth a combined total of about RM240,000, a Cartier worth RM120,000 and a Tag Heuer worth RM11,000.
According to the post, the MACC also seized over RM146,000 in cash, including US$700, as well as bags and a belt from Coach and Ferragamo worth about RM20,000.
This brings the total amount of the items seized to more than RM8 million.
The MACC said yesterday that it had also seized houses and other properties, bringing the total value of seizures to about RM11 million. - NST
