Kajang police chief Naazron Yusof said the suspects in their 20s and 30s were arrested by officers from the criminal investigation division of the Kajang district police headquarters.
He said the first arrest was made yesterday, with the suspect remanded for six days until July 26.
“The remaining four suspects will be brought before the Kajang magistrates’ court tomorrow for a remand application. Urine screening tests conducted on all the suspects were negative for drugs,” he said in a statement.
Naazron said the victim was a foreign national in his 20s who worked in the area where the incident occurred. The motive has yet to be established and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Yesterday, Bernama reported that a man was found dead with stab wounds to the abdomen near Bandar Mahkota Cheras at 8.45am. A post-mortem at Kajang Hospital confirmed that he died from severe bleeding caused by the stab wounds.
