PN secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said members of PN component parties must follow the directive from the coalition’s top leadership to ensure that BN-PN succeeds in forming the state government.
“PAS members and all members of PN component parties must be bound by our directive,” he said after a campaign rally for Gemas, Gemencheh and Repah at Felda Bukit Rokan last night.
The directive came after BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi similarly instructed BN members and supporters to vote for PN candidates in the 11 seats contested by the coalition in Negeri Sembilan.
At the ceramah, Takiyuddin, the PAS secretary-general, urged PAS members in the Tampin parliamentary constituency to support both BN and PN candidates in the three state seats there, including the MCA candidate.
“As PAS secretary-general, as well as PN secretary-general, I call upon and direct all PAS members in the Tampin parliamentary constituency to support BN candidate Suhaimizan Bizar in Gemencheh and PN candidate Ridzuan Ahmad in Gemas.
“Do not forget the MCA candidate, Koh Kim Swee, in Repah. We want to defeat Pakatan Harapan (PH),” he said.
Takiyuddin said PAS members were obligated to support BN candidates, similar to the party’s directive during the Johor election to oppose PH.
He also revealed that the BN-PN understanding for the Negeri Sembilan election was reached on July 14, four days before nomination day.
“This is PN and BN, a front that can no longer be separated forever,” he said. - FMT
