KUALA LUMPUR: A driver in a Perodua Axia was forced to make a lengthy reverse retreat after an attempt to bypass a traffic queue on a narrow two-way road failed.

The incident, captured on dashcam, shows the Axia attempting to overtake queued traffic before coming to a sudden halt when an oncoming vehicle appeared in the opposite lane.

With the path blocked, the driver had to reverse past four vehicles in the queue.

The driver eventually managed to steer the vehicle into a narrow gap between two queued cars, clearing the lane and allowing the oncoming traffic to pass.

The coordinates recorded on the dashcam footage indicate that the incident occurred along Jalan Nelayan 19/15 in Shah Alam, Selangor.

The footage, which was recorded yesterday, has begun circulating widely online.

It has already garnered over 1,000 views after being shared by the account @update11111 on the social media platform X today. - NST
