PETALING JAYA: A Year 1 pupil died this evening after being knocked down by a school bus that had just dropped him off near Taman Sri Lalang in Kluang, Johor.
Kluang police chief Bahrin Noh said the bus was driven by a 36-year-old woman, who fainted after realising what had happened.
He said the boy died at the scene from severe head injuries.
Bahrin said the boy had just been dropped off at Jalan Bunga Raya and was on the left side of the road when the bus made a turn, knocking him down.
“He hit his head (against the ground) and died at the scene,” he said.
The bus driver is being treated in hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for causing death by reckless driving. - FMT
