MELAKA Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh likened BN to a “beautiful maiden” being courted by several political coalitions seeking cooperation ahead of the upcoming Melaka state election.
The Melaka BN chairman said several parties were expected to come forward with proposals to “woo” BN in the near future, paving the way for the coalition to “legally marry”.
“Of course, we are a beautiful maiden, so many are interested in courting us. They will have to wait,” he said.
“So, as the ‘head of this family’, I will certainly choose whoever offers the best dowry to become my son-in-law,” Rauf added.
The story which was posted on X by Berita Harian has since garnered quite the fiery response from our netizens too.
According to netizen @mkrash, they resemble more of a maiden who robs people.
“The pervert mindset is like this,” pointed out @cybernout10 while @Osman09404006 cautioned BN from being married to a widower who got rejected.

@Osman09404006 did not elaborate on who the widower was, but readers should have little trouble using their imagination.
However, @farhz_neo felt that BN was in fact an old lady.
“A maiden who already got holes blown into her by squirrels. No body wants her,” said @PelitaRaya2.
Here is also a photo comment from @qazwsx130426210 which about sums up what people think about BN being a lovely, young maiden being courted by numerous suitors.

@samsulrazi further lamented that BN should just stay true to their mission to create a blue wave and wrest Selangor from the hands of PH.

Previously, PN and PH were reported to be planning talks with BN ahead of the Melaka state election.
This followed Rauf’s decision to leave the door open for negotiations with any party under the “BN Plus” formula, although he stressed that such talks would not necessarily result in an agreement or understanding.
Meanwhile, Rauf said that, so far, no political party or coalition had held formal discussions on cooperation for the Melaka state election.
He said any negotiations in the future must be based on BN’s priority of defending the 21 state seats it won in the 15th Melaka state election.
Meanwhile, commenting on the stance of UMNO youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh, who said he would not contest in the state election if BN cooperated with PH, Rauf said it was still too early to draw any conclusions.— Focus Malaysia
