A POTENTIAL 1MDB MURDER TOO FOUL TO CONTEMPLATE: TILL NOW COPS UNABLE TO ARREST ANYONE IN SHOOTING OF GANI PATAIL’S DRIVER, YET IGP SO QUICK TO DENY LINK TO NAJIB’S 1MDB SCANDAL

Police have not made any arrests over the Sept 29 shooting of the driver of former attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.
In a parliamentary reply, he said police were still investigating the case, and have yet to ascertain any motive behind the shooting.
“Up until now, no arrest has been made, because the police are still collecting information and indicators to identify the suspect, and determine the motive behind the case,” Zahid said in reply to Sepang MP Mohamed Hanipa Maidin, who had asked about the status of the police probe.
“Has anyone been arrested and detained? And if they have been, will the individuals will be charged? If there has been no arrest and charge, why?” Hanipa (photo) asked.
It was reported that two unidentified men shot and wounded Gani’s driver at the victim’s house in Ampang Perdana.
The men approached the victim on the pretext of asking for directions before shooting him in the leg.
Soon after the incident, inspector-general of police Mohd Fuzi Harun had dismissed any link between the shooting with the 1MDB scandal.
Fuzi had said that police investigation showed that the shooting had nothing to do with Gani, who was heading the task force into the 1MDB scandal before being removed as attorney-general, ostensibly for health reasons.
