Former wife, friends remember late senior CID officer as devoted father and leader

KUALA LUMPUR: "He was a very good father."

That was the heartfelt tribute shared by a TikTok user claiming to be the former wife of Assistant Superintendent Mohd Firdaus Safuan Abdul Rasib following news of his death.

In a posting today, the woman said she and the senior police officer had been divorced for about 10 years.

"Assalamualaikum. I am the former wife of ASP Mohd Firdaus Safuan Abdul Rasib, a senior officer with the Shah Alam Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Selangor. Please recite al-Fatihah for him.

"Pray for the best for the deceased. He was a very, very good father. We spent 10 years apart in life, and today we are separated by death," she wrote.

Many netizens also took to the comments section to share their memories of the late officer and praise his character.

One user described him as generous and caring.

"He was very kind and never calculative. Although I was only his former subordinate, he would invite me out together with his child. May justice prevail and may he be placed among the faithful. Al-Fatihah," the user wrote.

Another commenter described the deceased as a good friend who always brought laughter to those around him.

"He was a very good friend. We met 30 years ago and he brought so much goodness into our lives that we never felt lacking. Thank you, Pie, for being part of our lives as a friend who always made us laugh."

Another user described Mohd Firdaus as a leader who appreciated his team and never took credit for success.

"The deceased was a very good leader. I once worked in the same team with him. He was never arrogant despite the praise he received. He would always say that his success would not have been possible without the support of his personnel."

Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar previously said Mohd Firdaus served with the Criminal Investigation Department at the Selangor police contingent headquarters. - NST
