The fake account posted images of His Majesty alongside false claims suggesting that he ‘enjoys eating pork’.

The royal press office said the fake account, with the username “Sultan Ibrahim Ismail” posted images of His Majesty alongside false claims suggesting that he “enjoys eating pork”.
“The allegation is a serious insult, made with malicious intent, and is highly sensitive given that His Majesty is a Malay ruler and the head of Islam.
“The state royal press office hopes that MCMC will take stern and firm action against those involved,” it said in a Facebook post.
The account had allegedly also posted another image which depicted Sultan Ibrahim’s face superimposed onto the body of an animal, an act described as “clearly insulting and deeply irresponsible”.
The incident comes less than a month after a Facebook post featuring an edited image of a pig in royal attire, had circulated online.
The Selangor Royal Council strongly condemned the post, stating that the perpetrator acted in a provocative and disrespectful manner that constituted a grave insult to the royal institution and could undermine harmony among the state’s multi-ethnic population.
Bukit Aman launched an investigation into the matter and called up over 20 people for their statements.
The edited image, allegedly posted by a fake account, followed a row over pig farming in Selangor.
