Health ministry says it is monitoring arrivals from DR Congo and Uganda.

The ministry said it would monitor arrivals from these African nations, including travellers who enter the country via Dubai, Doha, and Singapore.
There are currently no direct flights into Malaysia from DR Congo and Uganda, it said.
The ministry also said it was enhancing surveillance at all international entry points, including airports and ports.
“We are also monitoring individuals who have a travel history to these countries and are displaying symptoms.
“Healthcare facilities are being strengthened to improve the detection, isolation, and management of suspected cases, including ensuring compliance with infection prevention and control measures,” it said in a statement.
Yesterday, the World Health Organization (WHO) voiced concern about the “scale and speed” of the Ebola outbreak in DR Congo which has killed an estimated 131 people.
WHO has declared the surge of the highly contagious haemorrhagic fever an international health emergency and will hold an emergency meeting on the crisis.
No vaccine or therapeutic treatment exists for the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola responsible for the latest outbreak of the disease, which has killed more than 15,000 people in Africa in the past half century.
The virus spreads from person to person through bodily fluids or exposure to the blood of an infected persons, who become contagious only once they display symptoms, such as fever headache, vomiting, and diarrhoea. - FMT
