The Pandan PKR Youth division committee has allegedly been dissolved after 19 of its committee members resigned.
Pandan PKR Youth deputy chief Haqimi Zamri announced his resignation and exit from PKR effective immediately.
He claimed that 18 other leaders from the division’s youth wing and its permanent chairperson have also resigned.
“They comprise a permanent chairperson and 18 committee members. Out of that number, 14 individuals also announced their exit from PKR.
“Therefore, in line with Clause 15.11 of the PKR Youth Standing Orders and Clause 37.12 of the PKR constitution, read together with Clause 32.4, the Pandan PKR Youth leadership structure has lost its quorum and is automatically dissolved,” he told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

Commenting further, Haqimi said political developments over the past year have raised the country’s political temperature, starting with the PKR election.
He claimed the election was seen as being manipulated to benefit certain parties, leading to more critical national issues, including corruption allegations involving those close to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, such as the corporate mafia issue and others.
Therefore, he said, taking into account these developments, they decided to continue standing with former Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli.
“We are very disappointed when there are individuals who previously rode on Rafizi’s strength, influence, and support to win party positions in Pandan, but ultimately chose to ‘cross over’ when power and positions became a priority.
“More frustratingly, some changed their stance after losing their councillor posts, and there are also councillors nominated by Rafizi himself to hold the positions but who ultimately betrayed the struggle,” claimed Haqimi, who also resigned as a PKR Youth central exco member.
Rafizi and Nik Nazmi’s political move
On May 17, Rafizi - alongside former Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad - announced their latest political move by taking over Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) – or Malayasian United Party.
The matter was announced at a special event in Petaling Jaya and attended by about 800 supporters. Bersama was registered in Penang in 2016.

Also announced was the party’s new logo, a mousedeer, to replace its old logo.
Rafizi and Nik Nazmi also announced their respective resignations as MPs, effective May 18.
Haqimi also quoted a sentence said to be contained in a letter written by Anwar while in prison, which read: “Every struggle always gives birth to a number of traitors and sycophants.”
“Today, we see for ourselves how this group is becoming more entrenched in PKR and has become a culture that we can no longer accept.
“Our next step will be to mobilise more grassroots members, including over 200 PKR members in Pandan, to leave the party and join Bersama in the near future,” he added.
‘Work continues as usual’
In a separate development, Pandan PKR Youth chief Ifwat Amir Hamirudin said he took note of the possibility that several leaders of the division’s youth wing are leaving the party.
He said their decision is their responsibility, but the reformasi struggle will not stop because of anyone’s actions.

“Changes in an organisation are normal in any political party and do not affect the core strength of the party, which is built on the commitment of members and the support of the people.
“In Pandan, the party’s work continues as usual, and our focus remains on strengthening the organisation and engaging with the people.
“Pandan PKR Youth will remain committed to defending the Pandan parliamentary seat and strengthening the party, in line with the president’s call,” he said in a press release. - Mkini
