Buoyed by home support, world No 12 pair Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin beat the world No 3 Malaysians in straight games.

Ranked nine places below the Malaysians, Raymond Indra-Nikolaus Joaquin took complete control of the match, winning 21-14, 21-14 in 33 minutes at Istora Senayan, with a full crowd firmly behind the home duo.
With this loss, Aaron-Wooi Yik are still searching for their first title of the season, five months into the campaign.
Their best results this season were runner-up finishes at the Malaysia Open in January and the All England in March. This slump in their performance saw them lose their second spot in the world ranking this week.
In another second-round match, men’s singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao’s campaign ended after he lost to France’s Alex Lanier.
World No 8 Lanier, who won last week’s Singapore Open title, defeated world No 27 Leong 21-16, 21-15 in 47 minutes. - FMT
