The man seen in the video is believed to be an employee of the restaurant, say police.

This comes after a one-minute, 32-second video went viral on social media, showing a man placing a cat into a sack.
Hilir Perak police chief Chua Kok Lian said following the circulation of the video, police conducted preliminary investigations to identify the person involved, the location of the incident and other details of the case.
“Police have also received a report lodged by the restaurant owner regarding the viral video.
“Based on the report, the person who placed the cat into the sack is believed to be an employee of the restaurant,” Bernama reported him as saying today.
Chua said the case is being investigated under Section 29 of the Animal Welfare Act 2015 for suspected animal cruelty.
He said police will work with the veterinary services department and other agencies to complete the investigation and take appropriate action under existing laws.
“The public is urged to be mindful of animal welfare and promptly report any incident of animal abuse or neglect to the authorities.
“Police take all forms of animal cruelty seriously and will not tolerate any party involved in such acts,” he said. - FMT
