Kluang police chief Bahrin Noh says a new remand application will be made tomorrow.

Kluang police chief Bahrin Noh said a new remand application would be made at the Kluang magistrates’ court for the 19-year-old, who remains unnamed.
“The suspect will be rearrested under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Nevertheless, the investigation under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 (reckless and dangerous driving) will continue,” Harian Metro reported him as saying today.
This comes after the Attorney-General’s Chambers yesterday ordered that the probe into the crash be reclassified as murder and death caused by reckless and dangerous driving.
The teenager had been remanded for two days from Tuesday but had his remand extended by a day.
On Tuesday, Bahrin said the teenager, who was driving a Mercedes-Benz E240, was believed to have been racing against his brother, Goh Yi Sheng, 22, who was driving a BMW, before the crash at 1.19pm on Jalan Renggam-Simpang Renggam.
Goh lost control of his BMW, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided with a Perodua Alza, Toyota Vios, Proton Wira 1.5, and his brother’s Mercedes-Benz.
The four occupants of the Vios – Aiman Rashid, 36, Nur Airish Syifa Sidek, 10, Nor Azlina Abd Latif, 33, and Semek Mat Soh, 73 – were pronounced dead at the scene. Goh died from severe chest injuries while being transported to hospital.
Eight other people involved in the crash were sent to Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Kluang for treatment. - FMT
