KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 — Commuters on the Kelana Jaya LRT line faced another difficult morning today as several stations were reported to be packed with passengers, while trains were allegedly running slowly.

Several public transport users shared the situation on social media, posting images of crowded platforms filled with passengers waiting for trains, according to a report by Kosmo! Online. 

A Threads user known as @nibukanyon said the service disruption had continued since yesterday, advising those who had yet to leave home to consider delaying their journey.

“Siapa baru nak gerak pergi stesen LRT, lepak dulu dekat rumah kot. LRT rosak dari semalam tak selesai lagi. Kekerapan perlahan, stesen penuh gila. Aku dah pasrah dah dekat sini,” the post said. (“Anyone who’s just about to head to the LRT station, maybe just stay home for now. The LRT has been disrupted since yesterday and it still hasn’t been resolved. The trains are running less frequently, the stations are insanely crowded. I’ve just given up at this point.”)

Another user, @addazwan, claimed that the train he was travelling on made several sudden stops and did not stop at the Asia Jaya and Taman Jaya stations before passengers were asked to disembark at Kerinchi station.

Meanwhile, another user expressed frustration after claiming that trains stopped for almost seven to eight minutes at several stations, disrupting commuters’ journeys to work.

According to @jazz_sidhu1, the overcrowding also made it difficult for passengers waiting at some stations to board the trains.

“Berhenti di hampir setiap stesen selama tujuh hingga lapan minit memang tidak masuk akal dan tren terlalu sesak sehingga orang yang menunggu di stesen pun tidak dapat naik. Tren sekarang menyebabkan kelewatan dan orang ramai lambat ke tempat kerja. Keadaan ini memang sangat mengecewakan,” the post read. (“Stopping at almost every station for seven to eight minutes is simply ridiculous, and the trains are so crowded that even people waiting at the stations cannot get on. The trains are causing delays, with people arriving late for work. This situation is really frustrating,” he said.)

Meanwhile, Rapid KL said in a statement this morning that Pasar Seni station on the Kelana Jaya Line was experiencing an increase in passenger numbers, resulting in congestion.

It said passenger control measures were also being implemented to ensure commuters’ safety and smooth movement.

“In this regard, passenger entry and flow control measures are being implemented at the affected stations to ensure the safety and smooth movement of passengers,” it said. - malaymail
