PETALING JAYA, Sept 8 — A local man in his 40s was killed after being hit by a Proton Saga in a hit-and-run incident at Kilometer 0.8 of the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) towards Puchong early yesterday morning.

Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat said police received information about the incident at about 5.40am, according to Kosmo! Online. 

He said initial investigations found that the incident occurred at about 4.34am when a red Proton Saga suddenly struck a pedestrian who was standing in the left lane.

“The vehicle continued driving and did not stop after the incident,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He said the victim, who suffered serious injuries, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Police urged anyone who witnessed the incident or was at the scene to come forward at the nearest police station or contact traffic investigating officer Inspector M. Sivam at 017-3290749 to assist with investigations.
