BALIK PULAU: Police have urged the public not to spread unverified information or speculate about the disappearance of a 26-year-old Kafa teacher.

Southwest district police chief Assistant Commissioner Anuwal Ab Wahab said investigations and efforts to locate Mohamad Hijazi Zamri were ongoing.

"Police are also scrutinising information circulating about the case," he said today, warning that unverified claims could cause public concern and disrupt the investigation.

Hijazi was reported missing after leaving his home in Sungai Ara, Bayan Lepas, on Aug 22.

He had sought his mother's permission to go to Surau Al-Muttaqin in Lilitan Sungai Ara on a blue Yamaha LC135 motorcycle bearing registration number PQG 275.

However, he failed to return home and could not be reached by his family. His father lodged a police report on Aug 23.

Anuwal urged anyone with information on the man's whereabouts to contact the southwest district police headquarters at 04-8662222 or the nearest police station. - NST
