The Negeri Sembilan government was also ordered to pay RM25,000 each to Abdul Rahim Yasin and Mubarak Dohak.
Justice Roz Mawar Rozain also ordered the state government to pay RM25,000 each to Abdul Rahim Yasin, the undang of Rembau, and Mubarak Dohak, the previous undang luak of Sungei Ujong, during online proceedings, Berita Harian reported.
The state government filed separate originating summonses against Rahim and Mubarak on July 16 and 17.
Also named as respondents were the occupants of the official halls and residences of the Rembau and Sungei Ujong undangs.
The state government, as owner of the premises, had sought an order affirming its right to vacant possession of all four premises, as well as a declaration that the respondents and any other occupant were trespassers without any legal right, licence or permission to remain there.
It also sought orders for all the respondents to immediately vacate the premises and hand over vacant possession to the state government.
The state government was represented by lawyer Hariz Yusoff, while lawyers Choo Shi Jin and Emirul Sarifuddin Nor Azmi represented Rahim, and lawyer Asmawi Ismail represented Mubarak.
In April, FMT reported that the Negeri Sembilan government had ordered the official residence of the Sungei Ujong undang and the Balai Undang Sungei Ujong to be vacated.
The directive was issued to Mubarak’s private secretary in a letter from a division secretary at the Negeri Sembilan state secretary’s office.
The letter, sighted by FMT, referred to a decision made at a special sitting of the state’s Dewan Keadilan dan Undang on April 17 to remove Mubarak as the Sungei Ujong undang for allegedly violating several customs and traditions. - FMT
