Hadi’s cane fetches RM16,500 at Melaka PAS fundraiser

A cane belonging to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang fetched RM16,500 at a fundraising dinner organised by Melaka PAS.

The cane, made of kemuning wood, was auctioned during the dinner attended by Hadi and Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.

The auctioneer told guests that the cane bore Hadi’s initials, TGHH (Tok Guru Haji Hadi).

“Tok Guru has brought it to Friday morning lectures and party meetings,” the auctioneer added.

Bidding started at RM2,500 and rose steadily. The winning bidder was also given the opportunity to take a photograph with Hadi on stage.

The fundraiser was held as part of PAS and PN’s preparations for the Melaka election, which Samsuri had said could take place within two months. - FMT
