GEORGE TOWN: Jelutong member of Parliament RSN Rayer has denied any involvement in a viral poster that appeared to suggest he supported or helped organise the "Perhimpunan Merah Maha Kali" gathering.
Rayer said the poster, circulated on social media and messaging applications, used his name, photograph and position without his permission.
He said he had never authorised or consented to the use of his name, image or position to promote the gathering.
"The use of my name and photograph without permission has created a false perception among the country's multiracial society and could mislead the public about my position and involvement in the issue," he said.
Rayer said his responsibility was to represent and serve all Malaysians regardless of race, religion or background.
Rayer had recently condemned the demolition of the Veeramakaliamman temple in Bukit Lagi, Kangar. - NST
