Its chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said the wing are prepared to provide the Aruz driver with lawyers free of charge to ensure that the matter could be properly determined before the courts.
Akmal said he had initially chosen not to become involved after videos of the altercation between the two motorists went viral several days ago.
"I decided to speak up after seeing a subsequent video in which the Ferrari driver publicly maintained that he was not at fault.
"I understand that the Ferrari driver intends to take the Aruz driver to court, so I support that action.
"On behalf of Umno Youth, we will provide the Aruz driver with free legal services through Umno Youth lawyers so that we can seek justice in court.
"Let the court decide who is at fault and who is not," he said in a video statement.
He also urged the Aruz driver, or anyone who knew him, to contact him so that they could extend assistance.
He stressed that justice should not depend on a person's financial standing and that the courts should ultimately determine the merits of the case.
"Justice is not only for those who have a lot of money. Let the court determine the matter," he said.
It was reported that the Ferrari driver allegedly assaulted by a Perodua Aruz driver in a viral road rage incident on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) hopes the man will change his ways and think about his family before taking actions that could have serious consequences.
Businessman Tiang How Soon, 40, said he had no intention of causing a commotion and that the incident occurred without any collision between the two vehicles.
He said the situation could have been resolved amicably without resorting to violence.
It was also reported that the two drivers are said to have reached an amicable settlement.
Nilai district police chief Superintendent Johari Yahya, however, that police would continue investigating the incident. - FMT
