Woman gives birth in public bus outside Kuching health clinic

 The bus driver stopped the vehicle to seek help at the clinic after the heavily pregnant woman suddenly went into labour.

PETALING JAYA:

An expectant mother gave birth inside a public bus in Kuching, Sarawak, after suddenly going into labour.

According to a Facebook post by the Jalan Masjid health clinic, the bus driver stopped his bus outside the clinic and rushed in to inform the staff that a heavily pregnant woman was about to give birth.

“Several doctors and nurses rushed to the bus to help the woman deliver her baby. The situation was relatively calm and turned cheerful once the baby was safely delivered,” the post stated.

The woman and her child were later referred to Sarawak General Hospital for further treatment.

It was the first reported case of a woman giving birth inside a BAS.MY public bus since the service was introduced several years ago. - FMT
